While the team continued to work hard painting and building the fence and wall .... todays highlights came from treats of Jolly Ranchers from Melissa and story time in Spanish with Beth. The kids also got to take home their own copy of the book!! Nica Angels

Team 1 left Nicaragua today and they are all home safe and sound. Behind a glass wall, we saw Team 2 arriving at Nicaragua airport. We are so excited for them and all the work that is being done in Nicaragua. (Thanks for the post Kati Burhyt)

Two more amazing days. We completed almost 3 classrooms, finished side of the reading wall, had the pleasure of singing with some of the students and a beautiful sunset devotion on the beach. Happy 4th to everyone!

Message from Greg and Connie.... Buenos días a todo! On Monday the work began! We arrived to find about two dozen Nicaraguan's on the job site at 7:30 am. Mothers of kids who attend the school, teachers and the principal of the school. They seemed so excited that their school would be getting a makeover. Their joy was palpable. Each day we have goals set by el heffe, the boss. Cruz is a soft spoken man in his thirties, who is learning leadership, being stretched and developed by Nica Angels. He is leading 40 or so volunteers, including us, each day. Creating teams, assigning work, managing supplies. All skills that will serve him well beyond the projects. We have four buildings that have received new tin roof prior to our arrival. Over the next two weeks they will get fresh paint inside and out, fresh chalk paint on their chalkboards, and new windows. The glass, louvered widows break often, so they are being replaced with sliders. Even the metal security bars over the windows will look new. We are ahead of our work schedule. If that pace continues, the second team may be able to repair and paint the kids' desks. It's quite a project overall for a school that serves 400 kids in a growing community. Steve Vana, one of our teammates brought balloons. I taught him how to bend and twist them to make a sword (Machete) or a dog for the kids. We both found amazing joy in bringing a smile to the kids' faces with these balloons. They played with them all day, and by the end of the day Steve had kids looking for him on the work site to make them a balloon. It was fun to see him surrounded by laughing children! We are doing this work in the kids' summer break, the first two weeks of July. Please pray for our team today as we work alongside these beautiful, people. Pray God helps us to connect with them in spite of the language barriers. Connie says the word Hope is in her thoughts today. Please pray that our presence here and the work brings hope
